Alton Towers is the UK’s biggest and most popular theme park.

An adrenalin-fuelled day out for all ages, there’s something for everyone, with world-famous white-knuckle rollercoasters, thrill rides and live shows set within 800 acres of countryside.
 
The Park

50+ rides and attractions including over 10 white-knuckle rides:

  • The Smiler, the world’s first 14-loop rollercoaster
  • Oblivion, with a vertical drop of 180 feet
  • Nemesis, with speeds of up to 80kmph and G-forces to match

Tickets from us are open dated and valid for one year.

Tickets are available to purchase year-round but the park is only open 14 - 22 February, and 21 March to 8 November.

The park itself opens at 9.30am, rides at 10am and closing times vary seasonally throughout the year.

Getting there
Alton Towers is in Staffordshire, in the north-west of England. The entrance to the park is near the village of Farley.

The closest rail stations to the park are Uttoxeter and Stoke-on-Trent. You will need to either catch a bus or hail a taxi from these stations to get to Alton Towers.

Parking
There is a parking charge of £6 per day for those guests choosing to travel by car, or £15 per day for VIP/Express parking (prices subject to change).

Wheelchair access
The park strives to be as accessible as possible to disabled customers. Accessibility varies by ride. Many areas of the park and many rides are accessible to wheelchair users.

The Smiler
Not one for the faint hearted, this rollercoaster has no less than 14 loops – a world first which has earned it a place in the Guinness Book of World Records! Designed to play on all your senses and be more than just a thrill ride, it’ll leave you confused, amazed, and fully immersed in the world of The Smiler… 

Oblivion
The world’s first vertical drop rollercoaster with a massive drop of 180 feet – Oblivion’s slogan is “don’t look down” – but if you dare to, it won’t fail to thrill!

Nemesis
Nemesis was Europe’s first ever rollercoaster where your legs dangle beneath you as you ride! Fly along a track of corkscrews and vertical loops at up to 80kmph and experience the G-forces that make this a favourite of thrill-seekers worldwide.

Air
You’ll truly fly through the sky with the park’s unique aerial inversion coaster. Air has been designed to give you the feeling of weightlessness, with speeds of up to 46mph, and you face straight down for a true ‘birds’ eye view’.

Rita: Queen of Speed
Faster than a shuttle take-off, speedier than a Ferrari and with G-forces of up to 4.7, Rita: Queen of Speed is not to be missed if you’re feeling daring. It takes you from 0-100kmph in 2.5 seconds!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory™: The Ride
 Families and kids of all ages can see Willy Wonka’s famous world brought to life. Join Charlie’s amazing journey on foot and take a boat through the fantastical landscape, followed by a jaw-dropping trip to the clouds in a multi-sensory glass elevator!

SEALIFE Sharkbait Reef
The park’s pirate-themed aquarium is home to over 300 spectacular species of fish, sharks and seahorses. Plus, discover the UK’s only tropical pool that you can dip your fingers into!

Hex – The Legend of the Towers
Take a spellbinding journey into the Towers’ dark past and visit the ruins that give the park its name. Hex takes you through the original Alton Towers stately home, but don’t be fooled, it’s a wild ride like no other…
