With this kind of flexibility, you can watch the country unfold, from the urban cobblestones of Edinburgh to the club scene in Glasgow, and from the untamed islands (transportation on Caledonian MacBrayne ferries included) to Loch Ness and Scotland’s legendary golf greens.

There are no special youth or senior fares on this ticket.

When placing your booking;

You need to provide the names of all passengers (except children under 5). If you are buying multiple tickets on one order, please type the first initial and last name of each passenger separated by a comma in the space below (for example: J Smith, S Rossi, H Daw).
Your passes will be sent to you by post as soon as you have placed your order - please allow 10 working days for delivery (some destinations may take longer). When you provide us with your departure date below, we will check that there is enough time for your order to reach you.
Please note we are unable to provide BritRail Passes to customers in England, Scotland and Wales.

Unlimited travel from morning until night throughout Scotland including ferries to the various islands and buses to explore sites off the beaten path.

Valid on all operators services within Scotland including travel to/from Carlisle and Berwick Upon Tweed.

Available in Standard Class only.

Allows you to explore by hopping on and off the trains as you wish.

20% discount on Northlink Ferries standard fares between Scrabster-Stromness; Aberdeen-Lerwick; and Aberdeen-Kirkwall-Lerwick.(Valid only on day of sailing, and applies to reclining seat fares only, not cabin inclusive).

Passes cannot be used to travel before 9:15am Mondays to Fridays, (except between Glasgow-Oban/Fort William/Mallaig and Inverness-Kyle/Wick/Thurso.)

The BritRail Scottish Freedom Pass offers great value train travel, whether you like to plan ahead or prefer to decide what you're doing day by day. The pass can be activated up to 6 months after the date of purchase. To activate your pass for the first time, you will need to go to the ticket office at any UK train station. BritRail Scottish Freedom Pass permits the holder to choose the travel days within the period of validity. Passes are available for 4 days within 8 days or 8 days within 15 days.

As a bonus, this pass also covers travel on Caledonian MacBrayne and Strathclyde ferries to islands, as well as key bus links.

Passes cannot be used to travel before 9:15am Mondays to Fridays, (except between Glasgow-Oban/Fort William/Mallaig and Inverness-Kyle/Wick/Thurso.
