About the show

  • 1960 Rose and Harry start anew in the newly constructed “streets in the sky,” chasing their dreams.
  • Decades later, Jimmy and his wife Joy, a Liberian refugee, confront societal challenges while striving for happiness in Sheffield.
  • The final story unfolds in the 2010s, as middle-class Poppy moves into the fashionable, redeveloped flat block.
  • Watch how the characters navigate the political upheavals of their era, which include Thatcherism, the steel industry’s decline, gentrification, and the impact of Brexit.
