A Day out in Edinburgh
Scotland’s capital caters for all. With ample attractions, restaurants and landmarks it’s hard to know where to begin. Here are a few suggestions to get you started.
Get to grips with the city on City Sightseeing Edinburgh Tour. Visit Edinburgh’s old and new towns, and hop-on hop-off all day. A great place to jump off is Edinburgh Dungeons where you can discover Scotland’s darkest history in the most fun way possible, with live actors, shows and a spooky ride! Great fun for people of all ages.
Another must is Edinburgh Castle. This Scottish landmark sits on top of an extinct volcano and its history dates back hundreds of years. The castle also has some spectacular views of the city. Do a spot of shopping on Princes Street which is overlooked by the castle and stop by Café Rouge for lunch.
When in Edinburgh be sure to sample some Scottish favourites. Visit a fish and chip shop and try a fried mars bar (a deep fried chocolate bar), have some steak pie at a local pub (a Scottish favourite and guaranteed to be on every bar menu) and don’t forget to pick up some Edinburgh Rock to take home – a delicious candy named after the volcano Edinburgh Castle is perched upon.
