Is the Pass available to everyone?

The Pass is available exclusively to non-UK residents and is only for individual travellers to Britain (maximum group of 10 people).

Do you offer any concessions?

There are no concession rates on the Great British Heritage Pass, due to the low cost of child passes in most properties.

When can I start using the Pass?

You can start using your Great British Heritage Pass whenever it suits you. It is designed to be used on consecutive days and will be validated on the date you visit your first property. You will also be asked to sign it at the visitor reception of the properties.

Are the properties open all year?

All properties are open from spring to autumn but some are closed in winter (usually November to March), so it’s always advisable to check before you go. Larger properties are generally open throughout the year. Opening times are given in the Guide, provided free with your Pass.

What happens if I buy my Pass at the end of the year?

If you buy your Great British Heritage Pass at the end of one calendar year, it can be used in the first few weeks of the following year. Properties should accept the Pass but it’s at their discretion. If you have a problem, please visit a Tourist Information Centre that sells the Pass.

Who do the properties belong to?

Properties are either in independent ownership, state-owned, or belong to/are members of The National Trust, The National Trust for Scotland, English Heritage, Cadw (Welsh Historic Monuments), Historic Scotland, Treasure Houses of England, Historic Houses Association or Historic Royal Palaces.

What happens if my Pass is lost or stolen?

If you lose your Pass, it cannot be replaced or refunded.
