The tour descends steps to view the White Hart Inn, Edinburgh's oldest public house, where infamous murderers once supped. Continue through Grassmarket to Bowfoot Well, and the tale of Maggie Dixon who came back from the dead.
Stop by the Museum on the Mound, Scotland's Museum of Money, to hear how Scotland's money and legal systems differ from England's. Pause at the National Gallery of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Academy and learn of their history before coming to Princes Street Gardens with its famous Scott Monument. See the ''Harrods of the North'' and St Andrew Square, once the heart of the financial district. Visit the Church of St Andrew and St George, cleverly designed so that there was nowhere for the devil to hide, and hear of James Craig, the New Town's architect.
Continue to the Assembly Rooms where King George IV's poor manners gave rise to the children's rhyme, Georgy Porgy pudding and pie. The tour ends in Charlotte Square where you can see the Official Residence of Scotland's First Minister and visit an authentic Georgian House.
