When was the London Eye built?

The London Eye opened to the public in 2000 as a new London landmark designed to celebrate the millennium. This is why the attraction is also sometimes referred to as the Millennium Wheel.

Each rotation lasts approximately 30 minutes.

How big is the London Eye?

The wheel is 135 metres (443 feet) tall and has a diameter of 120 metres (394 feet).

How many capsules does the London Eye have?

There are 32 capsules on the London Eye, representing London’s 32 boroughs. However, capsules are numbered 1 – 33, as the thirteenth pod has been removed for good luck.

When is the best time of year to visit the London Eye?

The London Eye’s extended opening times in the summer months give visitors the opportunity to enjoy a ‘sunset experience’ – a great finish to the day and the perfect start to your evening. Winter also has something special to offer visitors – the earlier nightfall means guests can enjoy night time views of London beautifully lit up.

• Tickets purchased to the The lastminute.com London Eye are non-cancellable, non-refundable and non-exchangeable
• Luggage is not permitted onto the The lastminute.com London Eye. Any luggage can be dropped off at the Luggage facility within London Waterloo station (additional charges apply)
• You must bring either a valid printed copy of your ticket or a valid downloaded PDF ticket on your mobile phone when you visit the attraction
• Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult of 18+ years. Failure to comply will result in refused entry to the attraction
