Visitor Oyster CardLondon Oyster Card
The London Oyster Card is a pay-as-you-go smart card for the subway, buses and London Overground trains in London. You can buy London Oyster Cards from the VisitBritain Shop in denominations of £10, £20, £30, £40 and £50 sterling. If your pre-paid balance runs out, simply top up the card’s credit at any subway station or at thousands of retail outlets across London – look out for the Oyster stickers and posters in the window.

The London Oyster Card is smart, too – it caps daily spending, so you can use the buses and subway as many times as you like in one day, but you’ll never pay more than the price of an equivalent Day Travelcard (exclusions apply). The card and its credit don’t have an expiration date so you don’t have to use it on consecutive days and if there’s any credit left when you leave London, save it for your next visit or pass it on to friends or family.
