Whipsnade Zoo ticket restrictions

  • No dogs are allowed on the premises.
  • Bicycles and motorbikes are not allowed on the premises.
  • Roller-skates, rollerblades and skateboards are not allowed on Zoo premises.
  • Children’s scooters are permitted under the supervision of an adult. No adult scooters are allowed onsite.
  • Heelys roller shoes must not be used as skates, but may be worn as shoes.

  • You must obtain permission for all filming and photography for commercial purposes.
  • Guests can visit the Zoo at any time during opening hours.
  • The Zoo opens daily at 10:00 am. 
  • Closing times vary seasonally between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
  • Last admission is one hour before closing time.
  • Last entry and closing times are subject to change due to special events.
  • Please note that animal houses close 15 minutes before the Zoo closes.
  • The Zoo is open every day of the year except Christmas Day.

How to get there

  • Address: Whipsnade Zoo, Dunstable, Bedfordshire LU6 2LF
  • Road access / Directions: The Zoo is just north of London, 20 minutes from the M25 (junction 21), and signposted from the M1 (junction 9 and junction 12) and all major roads.
  • By bus: Local bus services 40 and 40A operate from Dunstable to Whipsnade Zoo.
  • Nearest train stations: Leagrave and Luton.
