8am: Leave the beautiful Inverness and travel through the spectacular mountains of Wester Ross, an area of outstanding natural beauty and untouched by the ways of the modern world.
You will then head to the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, the castle which appears frequently in films and even shortbread tins and calendars!
Did you know? The Castle you will see on your trip is actually the fourth version. At first, the site was a monastic cell back in 634AD. The first castle was established in the 13th Century by Alexander II to prevent the area being invaded by the Vikings!
After immersing yourself in all that the Castle has to offer, with its rich history and secrets alike, you will travel over the bridge to the Isle of Skye and head to the bustling harbour town that is Portree for a spot of traditional lunch – fish and chips perhaps or some local delicacies?
Did you know? Portree is actually the capital of the Isle of Skye and is surrounded by lush tumbling hills. Despite it's historic surroundings, the town itself is only 200 years old. The name Portree is said to derive from the Gaelic word for Port on the Slope.
For the afternoon, your guide will take you around the world famous natural beauty of the Trotternish Peninsula. See all of the spectacular spots the region as to offer including The Old Man of Storr. Make sure you have your camera at the ready as this breathtakingly beautiful spot is not one you will want to forget. Capture the lush rolling hills reaching as far as the eye can see, the sunset resting upon the tip of the hills before melting into the crystal sea – what could be more perfect?
If this was not enough, you will then see if all the legends are true as you visit Kilt Rock, the rock that is said to resemble that of a traditional Scottish Kilt!
Next you will visit Quiraing, an essential walk for any photographer! With high rugged cliffs, hidden plateaus and pinnacles of rock, this dramatic scenery is such to leave you spellbound.
In the evening, you will make your way to the mainland through the majestic Glen Shiel, and along the shores of Loch Clunie, surrounded by vivid green hills, mountains that reach as high as the eye can see, and clear blue water that reflects the tall thin trees and clear blue skies.
The final part of your journey takes you along the banks of the historic and mighty Loch Ness. Look out for the legendary Loch Ness monster who may just wave farewell to you as you end your tour.
The tour ends back in Inverness at approximately 8pm.
