Take a springtime tour of London

As the days get longer, why not make the most of it and get outdoors, with a springtime tour of London’s top sights?

Visit royal wedding venue and ancient church Westminster Abbey, before strolling along the Thames to St Paul’s Cathedral, in the historic City of London area. You can even catch a Thames clipper cruise to take you there by river – feel the wind in your hair and take in a unique perspective of London in the crisp spring air on the boat’s open deck.

St Paul’s Cathedral hosts an Easter service, but you can visit the beautiful domed Cathedral year-round to take in the atmospheric delights inside.

Visit a glorious garden

Where better to celebrate spring than at one of the world’s greatest botanical gardens? Famous Kew Gardens is home to 326 acres of beautiful and rare plants, and it’s only about half an hour from central London! Admire spring blooms and striking Baobab trees and join an Easter trail to see the season’s most amazing plants. There’s also a treetop walk and even a Royal Palace you can visit with your ticket.

If you want a really wild day out, visit Heligan – a real-life “lost” garden that’s like something out of a fairytale. Kids and adults alike will love the rickety rope bridges, tropical plants and moody sculptures half-submerged in the grass that give the gardens their surreal atmosphere. Or pick one of the beautiful landscaped gardens you can visit for free on a National Trust Pass – some favourites are colourful Stourhead, in Wiltshire, and Mottisfont in Hampshire, home to one of the most renowned rose gardens in England.
