How to Order

• When booking a return ticket, please specify the initial direction of travel
• You will immediately receive a confirmation email
• Please note this is an e-ticket and will be emailed to you within 24 hours of purchase
• Tickets will be issued for the following day, but only if your order is placed by 2pm GMT
• If your email does not arrive, please check your spam filter. If your email is not there, contact VisitBritain

Using the Ticket

• Print the ticket, take it with you and give it to the ticket inspector on the train
• If you buy a single ticket, it can only be used on the travel date selected when booking
• If you buy a return ticket, your return journey must be made within one month of the outbound travel date
• If your return journey is more than a month after your outbound journey, you will need to buy two single tickets

Will I receive a ticket in the post or by email?

Stansted Express tickets are sent by email.

Can I cancel my order? My plans have changed.

No. As per our terms & conditions, airport transfers are non-refundable and non-cancellable once booked. The date of travel cannot be changed or cancelled once you have booked your ticket.

When do I have to take my return journey by?

Your return journey must be made within one month of the outbound travel date.

Do I need to redeem my e-ticket?

You will receive an e-ticket when purchasing online, you will need to print your e-ticket at home and present it at the Stansted Express station or to the onboard staff for it to be scanned as a valid ticket for travel.

What happens if my train is delayed or cancelled?

Replacement services (such as a bus or a train via an alternative route) will be provided in the case of service disruption, delays and cancellations.

What’s the journey time from Stansted to London?

The Stansted Express takes just 47 minutes to travel between the airport and London Liverpool Street station in Zone 1.

How often do the Stansted Express trains depart?

Stansted Express services depart every 15 minutes.

Where do the Stansted Express trains depart?

At Stansted Airport, follow the signs from International Arrivals inside the terminal building for the train station which is 2 minutes walk away. At London Liverpool Street, check the electronic boards inside the station to see which platform you need for the next Stansted Express service.

How far in advance can I book my Stansted Express airport transfer?

You can book upto 6 months in advance. You will be emailed an e-ticket when you purchase a Stansted Express airport transfer. If you have booked a return trip, this ticket can be used for both outward and return journeys. The outward journey must be made on the outbound travel date shown on the e-ticket, and the return journey must be made within one month of the outbound travel date.

I have not received my ticket yet – what should I do?

Stansted Express tickets are sent by e-ticket to the email address you provide when purchasing. It will be emailed within 24 hours. Please check your spam or junk mail folder as your email filtering system may have miscategorised our email. Please contact us if you have not received your e-ticket after 3 working days.

Sunday 13 October: Trains from Liverpool Street, Stratford and Tottenham to Stansted Airport to depart 2-3 minutes earlier than normally timetabled

Due to an amended service being operation to cater for the Carolina Panthers v Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL match at Tottenham Hotspur stadium, trains departing Liverpool Street in the Northbound direction, from 11:00 to 20:30, may depart Liverpool Street, Stratford and Tottenham Hale 2-3 minutes earlier than normally scheduled.

Saturday 19 October: Trains from Liverpool Street, Stratford and Tottenham to Stansted Airport to depart 2-3 minutes earlier than normally timetabled

Due to an amended service being operation to cater for the Tottenham Hotspur v Watford football match at Tottenham Hotspur stadium, trains departing Liverpool Street in the Northbound direction, from 11:45 to 20:00, may depart Liverpool Street, Stratford and Tottenham Hale 2-3 minutes earlier than normally scheduled.

Sunday 20 October: Early Morning Diversion until 0810

On the morning of Sunday 20 October, Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport Services will call at Seven Sisters Station in place of Tottenham Hale Station until 08.10

Saturday 26 October: No Stopping at Tottenham Hale all day Saturday

Due to essential improvement works, trains will call at Seven Sisters in place of Tottenham Hale all day Saturday. Services will depart from Stansted Airport and London Liverpool Street as timetabled, but with a journey time of approximately 60 minutes.

Monday 04-08 November: No Stopping at Tottenham Hale After 22.45

Due to essential improvement works, trains will call at Seven Sisters in place of Tottenham Hale after 22.45 on Monday 4, Tuesday 5, Wednesday 6, Thursday 7 November, Friday 8 November. Services will depart from Stansted Airport and London Liverpool Street as timetabled, but with a journey time of approximately 60 minutes.

Saturday 09-10 November: No Stopping at Tottenham Hale all weekend 

Due to essential improvement works, trains will call at Seven Sisters in place of Tottenham Hale all day Saturday and all day Sunday. Services will depart from Stansted Airport and London Liverpool Street as timetabled, but with a journey time of approximately 60 minutes.

Sunday 17 November: No train services between Tottenham Hale and Stratford all day 

Due to essential improvement works, no trains will run between Tottenham Hale and Stratford on Sunday 17th November.

Monday 18-21 November: 23.30 and 23.45 Stansted Airport to Liverpool Street Timetable change

On Monday 18th, Tuesday 19th, Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st November, the 23.30 and 23.45 services from Stansted Airport will call at Tottenham Hale station in place of Seven Sisters station.

Sunday 01 December: Stansted Express extended journey times until 0950 

As a result of track maintenance between Liverpool Street and Hackney Downs until 09.50, trains (including Stansted Express trains), will be diverted via an alternative route - passengers should allow for slightly extended journey times.

25-26 December: No service
