So what is it that we do? The VisitBritain Shop is a subsidiary of VisitBritain, the award-winning national tourist authority that promotes Britain to the world. We sell everything a visitor needs to make their visit to Britain a memorable one, including attractions, tours, transport tickets, souvenirs and more. The VisitBritain ‘Shop’ is actually thirteen shops, each catering to different markets around the world, in local languages. We may be all about Britain, but we are truly global.

The VisitBritain Shop has many opportunities to gain some real world experience working for a successful, thriving e-commerce business to put you in a great position for the next stage of your career.
Our interns are given a number of different responsibilities and develop a range of different skills. If there’s any specific interests or skills that you want to focus on, we’ll be happy to help if we can. Some business areas you might like to develop further during your VisitBritain Shop internship include:
- Customer service
- International fulfilment
- Financial control
- Ecommerce research and reporting
- Online marketing
- Online merchandising
- Product and stock management
- Profit and loss business analysis
Interested? We’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for enthusiastic interns who are fluent in English in addition to either German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, French or Japanese. If you can speak a few of these languages then that’s even better!
You’ll need to be confident using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and be available for a minimum of eight weeks.
While we can’t offer our interns a salary, we can promise a varied and challenging experience in the field of e-commerce which will impress future employers. Many of our interns have been assisted by the Europe-wide Erasmus scheme. Check with your higher education institution to find out if they are affiliated with the Erasmus programme.
