The London Eye opened to the public in 2000 as a new London landmark designed to celebrate the millennium. This is why the attraction is also sometimes referred to as the Millennium Wheel.
Each rotation lasts approximately 30 minutes.
The wheel is 135 metres (443 feet) tall and has a diameter of 120 metres (394 feet).
