The Painted Hall is seen as one of the most important pieces of baroque interiors in Europe. Originally conceived and executed by British artist Sir James Thornhill, the designs are almost 300 years old. The designs and paintings themselves tell a story of political change through 200 intricately detailed figures.
The Painted Hall also has many accessible exhibits that allow you understand how the hall was created including its recent restoration. You also get the chance to get hands-on with treasure chests filled with brilliant touch objects that are inspired by the hall itself. You may even get the chance to try on King William’s crown!
Painted Hall tickets include entry to the Chapel and the Ski ttle Alley where you can try your hand at Victorian bowling. Multimedia guides are available in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese Mandarin, German and Japanese . Guided tours are also included
